I am an avid Formula 1 fan and have watched pretty much every race live for the last 20 years. I was absolutely gutted to hear last week Friday that as of next year coverage is to be split between BBC and Sky Sports. The BBC will only be screening 10 of the 20/21 races and will only be showing a highlights program for the others. That means that if you are a fan and want to watch every race (like me) you will be forced into spending £45 / month on Sky/Sky Sports subscriptions… further lining Rupert Murdoch’s already bloated pockets! At last it seems even Microsoft are trying to help get rid of one of the worst pieces of software ever released (as far as us web designers are concerned anyway!). The amount of hours us web developers have spent over the years building a beautiful modern website, and then having to devote precious time building an almost duplicate site just to get it to work in Internet Explorer 6 – if we could only have charged Microsoft for all the hours we’ve spent, we’d be rich and Microsoft would have gone banckrupt long ago! After being an avid fan of Joomla! for some years and having used it as the application of choice on countless projects we have decided to switch to WordPress to drive our very own website.
